The Ministry of Justice, has released proposals to raise probate fees. Professionals, currently pay £155 and individuals currently pay £215.
It is proposed that a flat fee be introduced, regardless of the size of the estate, for all applicants Professionals and individuals to £273.00.
However estates worth less than £5,000 will not attract the fee as is currently the case.
A consultation about the fee increase will run until 23rd September 2021.
